The following features or solutions were added in Timeslips for the Mac v6.0.2:
Rate and Prorate fields are not resetting after changing a flat fee to None and then back to a flat fee.
Description: After entering a minimum hours flat fee, creating slips, generating a bill, and approving the bill, the flat fee will be marked as Completed. After changing the status of the flat fee to None, resetting the Accum. message, and saving the flat fee, you will notice that the Rate and Prorate fields have not reset.
Solution: Timeslips retains the values of the form until you save and close the client with the new flat fee.
The Security option to prevent timekeepers from viewing the rates of other timekeepers does not apply to the Slip List dialog.
Description: After unmarking the View rates option on the Security dialog, exit Timeslips and log back in as a timekeeper who has been assigned a profile that contains this value. When in the Slip List view, you will still be able to view the rates of other timekeepers.
Note: If you are viewing a slip on the Slip Entry dialog box, and you have been assigned this security profile option, you are unable to view the rates of other timekeepers.
Solution: If the security option to View rates is enabled, then the rate and the final value of the slip do not appear on the Slip List dialog. Timeslips leaves the fields blank.
If you are running OS9, Timeslips for the Mac cuts off transaction text defaults.
Description: If you are running OS9, select Settings; Transaction Text to open the Transactions Text Defaults dialog. You will see that Timeslips has cut off the default terminology.
Note: In addition, the default transactions for Bill Messages, Client Import/Export, Bill Phrases, Section Order, and Layout are also cut off. (This same problem also exists on Statements.)
Solution: Timeslips now retains the full text for these lists.
Import translations are not working for references.
Description: When importing information from an outside source into Timeslips for the Mac, references are not "translating." You use this option to select text during an import that does match any other text (in this case references) in the system. Timeslips looks for an existing reference and matches it automatically. Therefore, the user does not need to use the Translates To feature for each reference.
Solution: A change was made to the process of matching references to a particular client.
When creating a new database on OS9, your computer may freeze.
Description: If you are running OS9, your computer may freeze when you select File; New Dataset; From Timeslips for Windows. You will be unable to perform any further functions in Timeslips.
Solution: Timeslips no longer uses a method that holds only 255 clients. This method has been expanded to correct this problem.
Users cannot print an Invoice Listing report using Interchange format.
Description: When you are printing an Invoice Listing report to file, using the Interchange format, Timeslips indicates that there are no clients selected.
Solution: Timeslips can now print the report to file correctly.
The network version of Timeslips for the Mac produces a –39 error when using the Move to Modified or Move to Bookmark options after purging slips.
Description: For example,
1. Create five slips at Workstation 1.
2. Create five more slips at Workstation 2.
3. Purge slips 1-5 at Workstation 1.
4. At Workstation 2, open a slip and click Go To from the toolbar to open the Go To Slip dialog. Timeslips retains the original number of slips before the purge in the Move to Modified field. If you try to move to one of the slips that was purged you will receive a –39 error.
Solution: Make sure that both the single user mode and network modes are working. This will not affect the purge process, it will affect only the bookmarked and recent slips. In addition, a change was made to the purge engine, and all entries from all stations will now be updated in the bookmarked data.
Timeslips for the Mac does not support non-monospaced fonts within the Percent Complete Flat Fee chart on a bill.
Description: When printing a bill containing information on a Percent Complete Flat Fee, you will receive an error if you are using non-monospaced fonts.
Note: This error only occurs in Bills; the Full Detail Worksheet prints properly.
Solution: The Percent Complete Flat Fee chart now uses a pixel-based algorithm to calculate the positions of each column on the bill.
Users cannot create a new dataset from Windows
Description: When attempting to receive a new dataset that was created in Timeslips for Windows, you will receive an error that the export file has become corrupted.
Solution: Timeslips for the Mac was unable to support the large number of activities in Timeslips for Windows. The translation engine for reading data from Windows has been expanded to accommodate this data.
Users cannot hand select slips for billing.
Description: When hand selecting slips for billing, you may receive a message indicating that there are no transactions selected.
Solution: The hand-select dialog will now save selected slips correctly.
